Privacy Policy

Walk Away does not collect any data about you. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Designed Calm LLC, which makes Walk Away, never receives anything you do or write in the app.

What stays on your iPhone

• Drafts you write in Do Not Send. They're stored in the app's private storage on your device, encrypted while your iPhone is locked, and excluded from iCloud and computer backups. Kept drafts delete themselves after three days unless you change that. Letting a draft go deletes it. Deleting the app deletes all drafts.
• Settings and counts, such as your pause lengths and how many pauses you've taken. These stay on your device and are never sent anywhere.

Messages and contacts

Walk Away can't read your messages, email, or chats, and it doesn't access your contacts. It never sends anything for you. If you share a message, iOS's standard share sheet handles it, and you choose where it goes.

Notifications and Live Activities

If you turn them on, Walk Away schedules its alerts (such as “your pause is done”) locally on your iPhone. The Lock Screen countdown is a Live Activity that your iPhone runs itself. Nothing is sent through a server.

Face ID

If you lock kept drafts, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode and tells Walk Away only whether it matched. Walk Away never sees your face or passcode.

Siri and Shortcuts

If you start a pause with Siri, Shortcuts, the Action Button, or a control, iOS tells Walk Away which pause to start. Walk Away doesn't receive or store anything you say to Siri.

Sound

If you choose a pause sound, it plays only during a pause you start, then stops. Ocean, Rain, Stream, Wind, Fan, and Hum are generated on your iPhone. The eight songs are original to Walk Away and included in the app. Nothing is streamed.

A few buttons open web pages in Safari: our support and privacy pages, and findahelpline.com, an independent helpline directory. Walk Away doesn't send anything to those pages. findahelpline.com has its own privacy policy.

Analytics and advertising

Walk Away contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code from anyone.

Children

Walk Away is for a general audience. It isn't directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
